Addition Freebies

Is it Friday yet?!?!? 🙂 One of my babies came in SCREAMING this morning and that lasted for about 45 minutes. THEN, 4 sweet little friends came in my room because their sub didn’t come in. THEN, I had a Walk Through. HOLY MOLY! But, we had a super fun time in Math today. 🙂 We are back to working on Addition. Love it! First, we played these fun dice/spinner games. They were so easy to explain, and I happened to have these fun dice in dice that some of my friends got to use!

Next, we made an anchor chart and talked about the strategies we used to add.

Then, we did a fun little addition craft. Like I said, I had 4 extra friends joining us, so I had to think fast! 🙂 I didn’t want to teach them all of our Math Tubs so Googly Eyes came to the rescue. Every teacher should have an unlimited supply of googly eyes. I’m telling you…LIFE SAVERS!! First, my friends made monsters and glued eyes on them. I didn’t give them instructions just told them they had to share the eyes with their tables.

Then we got with a partner and glued them. Finally, we counted the eyes and wrote a number sentence. We used the sentence “Our monsters have ___ eyes.” I love that this one says “I s” hahaha. That IS how you spell it. 🙂
