Anchor Charts
Hey long lost friends. I’m not even going to promise I will blog more…it’s obviously just not true. Hahah! Here is currently…I love this linky. So fun! And I really love getting to know everyone outside of “Ms. ___” or “Teacher!”
Listening- This is my current favorite to watch while I’m working. I’m in Season 5 right now…LOVE it. Honestly…even if I didn’t love it, I would have to watch it to see what happens next, hah!
Loving- Today we went to Klyde Warren Park in downtown Dallas. It’s awesome! Food trucks everywhere, a MINI dog park (like so mini it was pretty useless to Tucker Bear), tons of families with little ones, splash pads, and so much!! And we went with some of our very besties. I’m OBSESSED with their little guy, and I loved being there with them. Have you ever seen anything as precious at little Dougie Bear?!?!?! We are so blessed to have all 3 of them in our lives!
Thinking- This week is going to be a rollercoaster! On Monday, we have our 9 weeks Awards ceremony. Almost all of my littles made A or A/B Honor Roll, and the ones that didn’t will be getting “Star Student” awards. 🙂 I used my End of the Year awards from last year, but tweaked them a little bit for this 9 weeks. Anyway…on Tuesday, we have internal walkthroughs…I’m not sure if I’m being observed or not. I’m not nervous, because my babies are seriously perfect. THEN…on Friday, our superintendent of curriculum is coming to do walkthroughs. EEK. Now THAT one, I am nervous about.
Wanting/Needing- I’m sorry…that just does not need much explanation. I’m just not good at dieting…it involves organization and preparation…neither of which I do much of outside of the classroom.
And on that note…a Yummy Pin! 🙂 I haven’t tried it yet, but it looks delicious and exactly the same as Chilis.
Here are some other pictures from the past few weeks!
I loved reading their connections to Llama Llama Misses Mama. If you need a book that leads to LOTS of Text-Self connections, I thought this one was a piece of cake!
Some of my babes are struggling with the difference between a word and a noun. I taught them to use the sentence “I like to…” If they can use their word to finish a sentence, it’s a verb! 🙂
I’m really struggling with small moments. Like…really. They are hard for my babies, and they are honestly kind of hard for me. It’s just difficult to get them to “zoom in,” when just getting them to write about one day in their life is challenging. I’m hoping through lots of modeling, conferencing, and PRACTICE, we will get a little better!
We started learning about character traits….to get some practice, we talked about INSIDE traits, and OUTSIDE traits that you can see. You can LOOK at outside traits, but you FEEL inside traits. I know that technically character traits are just inside…but we needed to talk about the difference.
After we went over the anchor chart, I sent them off with some traits to sort into “inside” and “outside.” They seriously did MARVELOUS with this. I was shocked…I plan on keeping these sorts out to remind them as we continue to work on this super challenging skill! 🙂
Here are some sweeties using our anchor chart to help them!
We are super lucky, because we get to spend 30 minutes of tutoring during the day, and then two after school tutoring sessions. Honestly…this is one of my favorite times of our week. My intervention group has been working on Bs and Ds. They had fun with this little sort! Email me if you want it! 🙂
We also have been working on our phonics puzzles in my intervention groups. First we started the CVC words…then we worked on long vowel/magic e words. You can snag those up in my TPT store. I’m telling you…they love them. I’m hoping to add some recording sheets, but you know how I am with completing projects!!! 🙂
I hope you all have a great weekend. I love being on this journey with you! 🙂
