Veterans Day Directed Drawing
Hi friends! I’m SO excited…I just landed at the airport in Detroit to surprise my big sister for her birthday. 🙂 She has no idea I’m coming, and her hubby is running a little late, haha! I thought I’d post some pictures of my kiddos directed drawing this week because they made me so, so proud! They are hanging in our hallway and we will pass them on during our Veterans Day ceremony. My principal invites local veterans in the community, and we invite our friends and family that served. It’s such a special day!
You can grab the drawing and writing paper in my Veterans Day unit!
Before we did our drawing and writing we watched this great video on Discovery Education. It’s a free service and the videos are usually full of great content. Most of them are older and aren’t super engaging visually, but they do a great job teaching important information and building their background knowledge about a new topic!
We also read The Wall by Eve Bunting. It’s such a beautiful story and message. It is a very serious topic for little ones, but I think it does a wonderful job explaining the Vietnam Memorial and the importance of celebrating our veterans.
Here a few other adorable pins I found for celebrating Veterans Day!

This is a super sweet video and song we listened to and talked about.
I hope everyone has a great week! 🙂
